FIELD TRIPS
FATS runs a number of field trips for members throughout the year including both single day and overnight field trips. Our field trips allow members to see and hear frogs in their natural habitat, and gives members the opportunity to hone their survey skills.
Please book your place on field-trips in advance. Due to strong demand, numbers are limited. To book, contact Robert Wall on 9681 5308 or rjw2008@live.com.au). Be sure to leave a return contact number. Field trips will proceed if its raining (rain is generally ideal for frogging), however may be cancelled if prevailing weather conditions are poor. Please confirm on the day if the field trip is going ahead or has been cancelled.
Please bring enclosed shoes that can get wet (gumboots are preferable), torch, warm clothing, and a raincoat. Please be judicious with the use of insect repellant - frogs are very sensitive to chemicals. Please observe all directions that the leader may give. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. All field trips are strictly for members only. Newcomers are welcome to sign up before the commencement of the field trip. All participants accept that there is some inherent risk associated with outdoor field trips and by attending agree to; a release of all claims, a waiver of liability, and an assumption of risk.
